Richmond Riverfront Plan - 2nd Public Forum

The City of Richmond held the second Public Forum on the Richmond Riverfront Plan on Tuesday, October 18 at 6:00 PM at the Virginia War Memorial.

Building on the inventory and analysis of initial site conditions in the project area and input from the public, the Consultant Team from Hargreaves Associates has developed initial strategic options that address the recognized development opportunities and constraints. The project team presented these options followed by a public dialogue on alternative growth scenarios, preferences, and priorities for Richmond's riverfront.

The design alternatives present the fundamental characteristics of pursuing different growth scenarios that may include:
* status quo,
* a recreation and cultural tourism lead strategy,
* an ecology lead strategy,
* a transport, urban design and place-making lead strategy,
* a development market lead strategy.

Public input will help to guide the development of the draft plan that will be presented at a third public forum on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.

The presentation from the second forum is available here.
